Cause We Could

Last Christmas I had the wonderful opportunity to sing at Disneyland with my school choir. This crazy,t iring adventure meant that each of us got a Disneyland ticket to go back anytime that next year. The best part is this boy, Stephen, and I started hanging out again this Summer and we decided the perfect end to our Summer would be a sweet Disneyland trip together on the hottest day of the whole summer. It was a great day. Hot, yes-But all together quite amazing.

The park was empty and we got on every ride which made it perfect for us cheapos who would never spend our money to go to Disneyland.

Summer has finally come to a close and has left every high school student crying with sadness that there life doesn't consist of the beach and friends. I know I'm sad to go back to school, but I am also ready to begin a new year and start over. As a final farewell to Summer I put together another video(again remember my obsession??) and you can watch it on Vimeo.

This lovely chick and I enjoy long walks on the beaches of Newport, People watching on the Pier, and Chocolate shakes at the Ruby's Shake Shack. We were made to live near the beaches that tourists travel to every year. It makes the people watching absolutely prime. Seriously.

Church camps are always a part of my Summer Adventures. I love being able to spend a week growing closer to the Lord as well as closer to over 20 strangers. It's one week I never forget.

The Two of us are always Adventuring

My best friend and I are currently on an adventure. 

On Saturday, we woke up early and traveled to St. George, Utah. It wasn't too long of a drive and we were able to get some ice cream from Arctic Circle for lunch. We then headed to Cedar City where we visited my friend's grandma. She was the sweetest lady, and has the coolest clothes that we tried on. Even though we were dying from heat exhaustion.

We then drove up to Lauren's family cabin and hiked around the area to a small pond. This hike was lots of fun and the scenery was beautiful, besides the gross bugs.

On our drive home, we saw a Shakespearean festival going on. Basically a bunch of hippies get together and sell stuff they've made, eat lots of food, listen to good music, and ride a mechanical bull. Lauren and I both got similar Fourth of July bracelets. The fair was so cute and random. 

After all of our adventures, we went back to St. George where we ate dinner at The Pizza Factory(it has bomb breadsticks) with Lauren's mom's best friend from high school. Her husband was hilarious, and the family was really sweet.

We ended the night with a trip to visit the St. George temple before going swimming and watching Mama. Oh, and having boys creepily stare at us as we picked out breakfast from the grocery store.

On Sunday, we woke up early to drive to Draper, Utah where Lauren's brother lives. We visited with him for a few minutes and then walked around Temple Square. It was so peaceful. 

The rest of the day was spent playing sudoku, going grocery shopping, and walking around a nearby duck pond. 

So far I love Utah and the adventures have only begun.

Scream and Shout! School is Out!

I finished my Junior Year. Phew! It was a close one, that's for sure. To start off Summer, I sang at graduation again this year and then I watched as 87% of my friends graduated from high school. That means they are leaving me alone with 4 other kiddos to trek through senior year. I'll have another wonderful post about our graduation adventure, but not right now. 

Anyways, since school has been out, I have been stuck working 8 hour shifts everyday. It's seriously really really sad, depressing, and tiring. While I love kids, I cannot handle another day surrounded by them. And don't even get me started on the lovely Toddler Time.

Being Summer though, it means one of my best friends comes in town for 2 months! He is my best friend Travis' cousin who lives in Arizona. He is meant to live in San Clemente though and that's a fact. Together the 3 of us dominate every party we go to/work at because we are that fun.

The Summer of Goodbyes

This summer is destined to be the summer I say Farewell to a lot of my wonderful friends. Most of my friends are off to college or to serve missions for their church. One Sunday before they leave on their mission they give their "Farewell Talk" where they give a goodbye speech about how they cannot wait to serve The Lord for 2 years. I love these Sundays.

This past Sunday, one of my closest friends from OCMCO gave his Farewell Talk. He and I became pretty close on our trip to Texas(more on that later), but he lives in Rancho Cucamonga. Which meant I got to go on a day trip to see my best friend give his talk! My other really good friend, Randall, was my travel buddy as we woke up at 6am to travel the distance.

I love adventures. And this seemed like the perfect adventure to take right in the middle of my finals week.

We arrived safely and went to his church. We sat with our other friends Blake, Skylor, Alyssa, and Jared. I love these people. It truly is the hardest thing to live so far away from the people you love.

Anyways, Kayvon gave the best Farewell Talk I have ever heard(seriously no surprise) and he sang a beautiful duet with his sister. It's so sad to see my friends go, but I know they are serving The Lord and they will be so blessed for that.

Those (almost) Summer Days

My Disneyland pass expires on Saturday. It's really upsetting because it's way too expensive for me to renew. Even though I have a job, my money goes straight to gas. Oh, and the time I would go to Disneyland I have to work now. 

To "celebrate" the end of my pass, my friend Travis and I took his little nephew Curran to Disneyland for his 3rd birthday. He's adorable. Seriously the cutest(besides Jude). 

We spent the time doing all of the things we had never done. It mostly included trying the Pineapple Dole whip ice cream that always has a huge line, and the corn dogs from Corndog Castle. We love food.
